Today's Flowers: Bursting into Bloom

The little blossoms on my redbud trees are a favorite site of mine in early spring.

I was glad to catch them against a blue sky for a change as we've had plenty of gray skies.

A few of my periwinkle blooms have appeared.todayflowprwDSCN7720b
When I was out and about I caught a lot of pansies in bloom. Pansies do well in cold weather and can handle the over night temperatures which are still going below freezing some nights.

I wish I could have caught the trees with white blossoms against a blue sky but maybe another day I will.

White on white has its own beauty.

More pansies caught in drive by shots.

I'm glad a few of the Japanese Magnolias waited to bloom. Some of them bloomed way to early and the blossoms were killed by very low temperatures and sleet but this tree waited until this week to bloom.

My camellias are doing relatively well.

My neighbor's camellia lost a lot of blooms to cold but a few are still opening up and doing better.

The scent from my narcissus/daffodils catch my attention before I even look at the flowers.

It's definitely spring time in my neck of the woods although there is no telling what it will be like from week to week.

My redbud trees aren't even budding. The daffodils are just now popping up.
If you have all this I must remember to ask my daughter what she has.

What a wonderful array of spring blooms! It all looks so cheerful and awakening to bew life while here the temps are dropping and the leaves are turning and it seems like we have hardly had any summer at all.
