Today's Flowers: Hydrangea blooms ending

My hydrangea blossoms are hanging on to the last remnants of color.

Soon they will be all dried browns and the leaves drop for winter.

I love hydrangeas, as your photos show they have a different kind of beauty when they're dying compared to the height of their blooming...

Do the flowers stay over the winter? I seem to recall having seen them...

Thanks to everyone for visiting. To answer the question, hydrangeas die back in the winter.

I like your hydrangeas better than I like my own. (Which of course aren't really mine at all except in the photograph. I cheat!)

But fun that we were both thinking along the same lines for flowers. There is something really touching about the way they hang on to color as long as they can! (Probably some lesson for aging people in there somewhere, for the philosopher!)
