Born on Veterans Day

I was born on Veterans Day in 1957 so I thought I'd start with a recent picture of myself. Now how self centered can I be. Enough about me, the rest of this post will include memorials at the North Carolina Capitol. These shots were taken at different times of the year in case you notice bare trees and then leafy trees. If you click inside to enlarge the shot above you should be able to see flags being raised. Not sure what was going on at the capitol. That photo was shot on March 1. The memorials I'll show below are both visible in the picture above but hard to see them.
The shot above is of a memorial for NC veterans who served in World War I, II, and the Korean War.The shot above is of the Vietnam Memorial to honor NC veterans who served in Vietnam. It is titled After the Firefight and depicts soldier carrying a wounded comrade to a nearby landing zone to await medical help.

it's good to know that war veterans are being honored. in the same way here, our war veterans are remembered as they fought along with the american soldiers.
