I sing - My first attempt at a windows movie

A while back I posted a short clip from I Sing, a song that I wrote sometime in the mid 1990s and recorded in 1998 on my Mean Mad Mama, Layers, CD. I decided to try my hand at posting the full length song with photographs from my life thus far, 1957-2007. Animoto , the service I used for the prior clip, requires a ton of photos to mix them up for an auto produced video for a full length song. I didn't want to try and come up with enough photographs it would require for that. Therefore, I have made my first windows song video which is easy and doesn't require as many photographs. This is just straight one photo per frame without any cool effects. It's rough and rugged and thrown together, but so am I. At least it gives me a way to post a full length song. I'm singing and playing guitar. Violin is by Hollis B. and bass by Thomas W.

I know, I know, enough with the CrazyFurryCanines.

To the attentive eye, each moment of the year has its own beauty, and in the same field, it beholds, every hour, a picture which was never seen before, and which shall never be seen again.

Thanks a bunch Gia, I hope you have a great day too. As ever, Carver

Hey Kim, You should definitely do one starring the beaglez. The Emerson quote is another I feel like I should know but have forgotten. I guess I knew it at a time gone by. It's certainly perfect for this.

I did not get a chance to hear the song...speaker problem...but saw your blog from Miss Melanoma site and in reading your blog, realized we're neighbors! I am in Raleigh, work at NC State and am a 42 yo Melanoma Survivor. I began battling in 2004 and finished treatment 12/2/2005. Great to see another NC survivor.Ellen

Hi Ellen,

Great to hear from you. It's so nice to hear from another Raleigh melanoma survivor. Not that I want anyone to have melanoma but I think you know what I mean. If we have to have dealt with that icky cancer it's nice to find others who can relate. Regards, Carver

First off Loved it! It was interesting hearing your voice, softer than I imagined. I always put a picture of you with your words, and I guess I make up voices for people too in my head-so it was a real treat to hear you.

Love the pictures of you. Looks like you were one groovy chick!

Great job, look forward to watching more videos from you.

Thanks Theresa,
I do that too with voices. I picture people from their blogs and kind of hear them talking from their posts. I actually have a fairly loud voice. It's low, I'm a female tenor, but I can be heard around the block if I want to be. That's one of my softer songs. Take care, Carver

You are very talented, Carver, lucky us we have the net nowadays: I truly enjoyed your post! It's the first time I have the chance to enjoy a complete work done by a blogger, congrats !!

I kept noting which picture I wanted to tell you I really liked, but the list got too long. What a gorgeous collection and I really like the song. I may borrow this idea of mixing old pictures and new. Thanks for sharing.

Lovely photos!

Thank your for sharing!

Thank you so much Sabine. That means a lot to me. The last picture was taken in 2005 so to be honest, I don't look anything like any of those pictures now. My profile photo was taken this summer but it's strategically cut to avoid my stomach. Let's just say there is a lot more of me these days, grrrrrr.
