Weekend Snapshot: Number 20

Last night when the snow finally started sticking to the ground, I thought I'd try some night shots.
They didn't turn out particularly well but I'm going to post a couple anyway.
We didn't even get a good ground cover. By the time it was cold enough to stick it slowed down.
This morning I got a shot of two male cardinals. You may have to click inside the photo above to see them very well. I think they look like big red flowers from a distance, rather than birds. The shot above amuses me because the cherub looks like it is wearing a white hat and bib.
I think my messy back garden looks a wee bit prettier with a light white blanket of snow.

Weekend Snapshot is the home of WS and where you can find other participants. You can also find participants on technorati -

I love the night shot especially. Your place looks like mine does today. I went for a frolic in the woods - and lived to tell it.

Nice post, as always.

Lovely shots of snow photos. I can't imagine Singapore being covered by a blanket of snow. It will never happen.

I think you really captured the snow. My favorite photo is the one with the figurines in the snow. Also, how fortunate to catch the cardinals. I have a hard time catching the birds before they fly away. Maybe it is that white kitten lurking nearby.

those are great shots...I love the cardinal photos...we dont' get them out west...it's been very cold here the past couple of days and I think we might get snow today.....if you don't mind me asking...what program to you use to upload your photos so that when you click on them they enlarge? I like that option.....

Carver said...

Thanks to everyone for visiting and commenting.

Small Town RN, to answer your question, most of the time I upload my photographs from my computer directly into the create a post. When you do that using blogger, the photograph is stored in the full size that it's in your photo archives, although it shows up on the post in the blog format size. When photos are uploaded that way, blogger stores them on picsa, and when you click on the photo it will go in a new window in full size. However, if you use an embed code from another site rather than uploading into the post, you can't click them on for full size. Let me know if that doesn't make sense. Take care, Carver

PS to small town RN, I checked your blog and the first two photos on your recent, all in a day, post do pop up into a separate full screen window but the last one doesn't. That makes me think you uploaded the first two using blogger but the last one has another hosting site and was included another way.
