Photohunt: Long

The photohunt theme this week is long. We had a long wait at Newark Airport a few weeks ago when flying home from my birthday celebration in Manhattan. I amused myself by taking photographs of the AirTrain while waiting in the long security line.
As far as trains go, the AirTrain isn't particularly long but the tracks extend quite a distance. The train serves both for on-airport-service between airline terminals, as well as for travel to and from the airport via the Newark Airport train station. I believe this is a first for me. I am only posting one photograph for the hunt so my long photohunt is actually quite short for me.

You can find other photohunters at the links below. The first link will take you to the home of the hunt, where you can find out how to join the hunt, if you are interested. You can also find other participants at that link. The second link is to photohunters on technorati. Saturday is the official posting day but I'm always early.

They are longer than we imagine, but move faster than lightening. Great photo, and glad you finally made it through the security line to post for this week. Have a good weekend.

I am very happy that I don't have to fly for work now. I can remember flying in America being fairly pleasant in the 1980s and 1990s. Not so now. Even here in Australia, the security screening is pretty tedious. My memories of Newark Airport is the very basic transfer area for People Express. That was the first airport I landed in when I first came to America in 1984. My first sites were the New Jersey Turnpike. Delightful.

Security screening here has increased enormously, just like everywhere else. Great take on this week's theme

That train is a perfect subject for long. I have included a train, too--on a much longer track. And I just saw a VERY long train picture. A lot of variety this week.

All that riding and expense for a plane ride. The train looks clean environmentally. It's a great photo.

Great idea for the theme! I too hate long waits. I remember the days when we could just walk over each others borders. Times have changed and not in a good way.....Happy photo hunting, and thanks so much for stopping by :)

Nice photo! Sounds like a cool train!

I visited the AirTrain website... that's really convenient. Unlike the airports I know, there's no direct transportation between the international and domestic terminals.

Good narrative to your long phot. The security line is a good one, not too sure people would be happy to pose for you though.

Great pics for this week's theme. I think I'd enjoy a trip on that train, although you'd have great difficulty getting me on a plane. Have a lovely weekend!

My LONG pics are up at Siani's Pot-Pourri.

Good choice for this week's theme! My husband just flew in from Newark last night on business. He was telling me how it was obvious that you had to get on another train to go the car rentals; so he ended up riding it a long time!

PowersTwinB said...

Great photo of the train through the airport! I've been at a lot of airports, but not the Newark one, yet. My hunt is up, please come and visit

A great post for the theme.

Alas, Blogger (Google) has decided that those of us from different platforms (I am from Wordpress) should not be able to leave links to our own blog. So I have to be either a nonnymouse or a nicked name. So while visiting and appreciating your site is still a joy, it is now quite hard to leave a comment. Please forgive me if I appear to go silent until they fix this problem.

Carver said...

Thanks so much to everyone for visiting.

For Archie,
I wish that blogger hadn't made that change. I'm sorry that it's an inconvenience. I always enjoy your photohunt posts so don't worry if I do comment on yours in the future, I don't expect anyone to comment here. Take care, Carver

Ah, yes! Long lines and long waits at airports! I have ridden the airtran at JFK, but not Newark. It is interesting trying to load one of them when there are 3 or 4 of us and a ton of luggage, too! Hope your weekend is perfectly delightful, Carver, and thanks for stopping by Pollywog Creek. Blessings!

Long security lines are never fun! Nice photo for this week's theme.

We went to new york a couple of years ago and didn't realise it was the weekend before Thanksgiving until we had a very long wait in newark airport for the flight home!

Great photo, and also a great means of transportation... Oh, and such fabulous weather!! We have it as bad as it gets over here at the moment - but it's perfect for going to the Christmas Market! ;)

Have a nice Sunday Carver!
