Photohunters: In Memory

The photohunter theme this week is "in memory". I thought I'd go with in memory of my mother (born in 1924 and died in 1990).The shot above is of my mother as a child and the shot below was taken one Christmas a few years before she died. For other photohunters, please visit the home of the Photohunt.

That's so weird; when I looked at that second picture very quickly I thought it was myself. She does kind of look like me when I was about 12 if you look quickly.

Old photos make me feel nostalgic. It's really nice that you have a picture of your mother when she was young. Your mom looked like she's having so much fun on the 2nd pic.

Beautiful tribute to your mom. Is that a crown she is wearing on Christmas? I also did a post on my mom.

Carver said...

Thanks so much to everyone for visiting and to answer the question about my mother in the Christmas shot, she was wearing a crown. She was also wearing her fancy new night robe at Christmas dinner which makes me smile to remember.

My daughter commented that with a quick look she thought the child shot of my mother was her as a child. It's funny because I don't think of my daughter favoring my mom but at that same age my daughter looked just like that photo of my mom as a child.

Someone asked if I look like my mom and I'd say when I was younger I did resemble my mother but not much anymore. The older I got the more I looked and look like my Dad, or more people that knew both of my parents comment on my resemblance to my Dad. For new people to my blog who are thrown off by my name, I am a woman but was named after my grandfather.

Nicely done. This is going to be an interesting theme I think. Lots of memories. I'm glad yours were good ones.

I had something of a similar idea... sort of.
I knew from the time I saw this theme what I was gonna do. There was only one thing it could be.
