Photohunters: Books

The photohunters theme this week is book(s). I took the easy route and photographed some of the books in my house.I have book shelves on either side of the fire place in my den/office. I also have book shelves over my computer table/desk in that same room.Still in the den/office, the book shelves below are over my day bed where I can lie down to proof work. One of the perks from my employer letting me work from home is that I can do some work lying down.Beside the door out to my deck I have bookshelves with more books.Moving into my living room, I have book on, under and beside the little desk.
I also have a few old books I stuck in with the china in my living room cabinet.
I also have bookshelves in the bedrooms in my house but they are even messier than the mess I've already showed you. I do have a tiny bit of pride so I'll skip the messiest of the shelves although they are all messy as you can see. For more photohunters take on the book theme, please visit the home of the Photohunt on Saturday.

Oh Carver, this looks like my place too. I did show them once before on my blog so went with a different idea today.

YOu can't be too thin or rich or have too many books.

Happy weekend.

Excellent! And I believe that book shelves are meant to be messy! Yours look better than mine (I need to do some spring cleaning this weekend!).

I, for one, love seeing all those books. I've got several shelves of books here and there, too, at home. Several times more in my office. Love it!

Perfect catch, nice one for the theme... The worth of a book is to be measured by what you can carry away from it... Mine's up hope you can drop by. Have a great weekend!

Wah.. you love to read ar? There are quite a number of books at your house.

Bengbeng said...

Seeing is believing. Carvr, you have so many books. I can't imagine you have read so many books in your lifetime. Must be an enriching experience. I talk not in terms of career but as part and parcel of personal development. I don't read sorry to say

My husband has floor-to-ceiling bookshelves in his "office" and there are numerous smaller bookshelves all over the house, so I know what you mean!

My ”Books” entry is up and cooking... Hope you can stop by!

But I BET you can have someone name a title, and you know exactly where it is! I dont think I know a single person who has such a collection as you do! My hunt is up, not nearly as cool as your shots...

You have a nice collection of books. I also have books in different parts of the house. My 5-yr old boy has his own cabinet where he stores his books but I often see some of his books lying around.

I love the corner bookshelf on the first photo! The bricks add a classic appeal.

Dear CarverFriend,
You do have many books! We have many books, but they are still in boxes. This is just as well as I once got into quite a bit of trouble for chewing one up...I was quite young at the time and did not know that books are for reading. I sometimes think that my sister, AbbeyDog would not be so worrisome if she could read. It doesn't really bother me that I cannot read because I write so well. I also have other hobbies such as Tennis Ball Hunting and Sleeping. I do some of my best composing and thinking during a period of Sleep called Snore, so I slumber as much as possible.
I am glad that you have such a nice book collection. My Kim sometimes reads word collections to UsDogz that she says are poems. We like the way they sound and pay attention briefly. After all, we only have simple Dog cognitive abilties. (She always reads as that her profession is something called Literacy Teacher.) She purchased a new book of poems last week at the Storybook Shoppe that opened up in our little Village Market area. The shop owner let us come in and gave us Treats! Ah, Glorious...crunchy goodness with a soft center. That is another habit, er hobby of mine...Eating. I also do Beg really well, but I digress. Our Kim purchased a book of poetry by Bill Martin, Jr. and Micheal Sampson. We used to walk sometimes with Mr. Sampson and his dog Caddie when we lived in Condo at St. Petersburg. Caddie received quite a bit of fame from the book he wrote about her called CADDIE THE GOLF DOG. We liked her because she never growled at us and was not not snobbish despite being a Famous Dog.
We were glad to find the book of poetry and tell the owner about Caddie...she is going to get the book and asked us to see if Mr. Sampson would come and do something called autograph them.
I am not familiar with that term so I will ask my Kim to consult another book that I have heard about called Dictionary.
So much to learn...and I remain
A VERY GOOD DOG.
Love, EmmaDog

PS There is a new kind of book called Kindle that stores pages electronically. My People said 'Harumph!' WIth the demise beginning of newspapers and now this gadget...what is to become of the printed word as we know it? Well, I am after all a Dog and will have to practice some deep Snore to ponder that one!

Now, here is a kindred spirit. I left a large bookshelf like that, back in our last house. We inherited my mom and dad's place with little in the way of storage.

I have donated a ton of books.

I honour your book shelves!!!!

I'd say you have more than a few books! My bookshelves are a tad unorganized, too.

Kindle will never get rid of all books. It may open the world of literature to places where it is hard to keep books from deteriorating or where it is hard to deliver books. There is still nothing like opening that first page and feeling the smooth paper...nothing like it. Mine is up here.

I have a habit of looking at peoples' books in photos or in movies to see if I recognize something I have read. Not mass-markets, generally. Spotted one in yours...."White Oleander"
