If anyone is here for my weekend snapshot post, that one is below this post. For Day 2 of Bridging the Gap, I thought I'd show you a bridge I spotted on the road to another bridge. I don't know much about this bridge except we guessed that it was a pedestrian bridge and it was very close to the James River Park which is near the Blue Ridge Parkway where Virginia and NC meet. The shot below is the bridge we were heading to when we spotted the one above.
The left hand side shows the highway bridge crossing the park, the right hand side shows the pedestrian part which crosses the James River and the highway is on top of that. I have more about this bridge in this recent post and then I also covered it on yet another post almost a year ago.
If anyone would like to find other bridges or participate in Bridging the Gap, please go to I Was Born2Cree8 where Alice is hosting this fun challenge.

Isn't fun making discoveries like these. The pedestrian bridge looks interesting. It's fun to google these spots to see where in the world we're traveling through this challenge. have a good day...
Bridges make for wonderful photos, and you did a great job! Thanks for sharing :)
bridges not just connects two places it also provides a good view of the place from a bridge perspective.
These are both very interesting!
That first one reminds me of a birdcage for people. :) Is is a wonderfully framed photo.
I lived in VA and we went to NC a lot but I can't recall this bridge - I'm sorry I missed it.
Nice post.
Thanks Carver, I think I would like to participate in Bridging the Gap. I'll go over to Alice's. Your bridge pix are excellent! It's interesting the elevated a bridge to go through the park. :)
Your red bridge in the post below would have made a great Ruby Tuesday as well! I see Mary wants to join in too huh? It's fun, I love doing photo challenges as well, it makes you look around more, and go out on a discovery tour! You did great!
oh, i keep saying on several blogs how i love the bridges they posted, and each time i mean it. i'm amazed by the variety of bridges and this one is unique as well (i know, i could have simply said i loved it).
I'm sorry I missed you yesterday. That red bridge looks bright and cheery. This one looks interesting too -- and I'd love to see the view FROM it!
Great shots, Carver. That top bridge is interesting, all closed in like that so no one can fall, or perhaps jump, from it.
I also like the bridge you were on your way to when you found that other one, haha. I'm going to have to follow your links and check out your previous posts.
I fixed the Mr. Linky problem, and added you to it.
Whoof! Is that a Dog Park under yur nice big bridge? Could a good dog play there? Bark!
Oh fabulous photos! I love Bridges!!
Thanks so much to everyone for visiting. I am enjoying this challenge so much. Reba, I saw a dog at the James River Park so if you're ever in the U.S. and find yourself there get your human mom to take you. Alice thanks for adding me to Linky. Mary I hope you do join the bridge challenge. I'm enjoying seeing all the bridges everyone is posting.

Under lot of bridge is creepy.
Thanks for visiting me and your welcome to stop in anytime.
Coffee is always on.
I would love to be walking on that ped bridge. Great job!
You must have a huge archives Carver. You can meet any challenge. But how do you find them in amongst all the rest?
Thanks again to everyone for visiting. I appreciate each of your comments. JMB you are right, I do have a huge archive. For the past two years I have been taking photographs every day. These are all digital shots and I have sorted them by categories after downloading them. It's easy for me to find shots from those two years. Prior to that it's much hard although I have had a digital camera since the late 1990s. My non digital shots are sorted in plastic envelopes but they aren't scanned. However, between 2006 and the present supplies a ton of shots.
