Weekend Snapshot 52 and the Opening Doors Challenge

Here I am with another combo post for weekend snapshot and a new challenge. When I heard that Jienje who blogs at Heaven in Belgium was starting a new challenge that would run from Monday September 1 through Saturday, I doubted I'd be able to participate so soon after having done 3 challenges in a row. However, since I loved the idea of an "Opening Doors" challenge, I spent a little time over the weekend looking through my photography for doors and, or entrances of any kind.
Although I didn't shoot these photographs this week, I figure they qualified for weekend snapshot since I cropped out the doors from photography I took previously and I did locate them in my archives over the weekend. To an extent it was a weekend project. These doors are located at the old part of the medical campus at Duke University in Durham, NC, US. They go to show you that a beautiful door doesn't always lead to something pleasant. The opposite can be true with shabby doors leading into a fairly pleasant home (my doors at home are pretty tattered). These doors took me into an oral surgeon's office where my impacted tooth was pulled, OUCH.
Who guessed that teeth are pulled behind these doors? The H on the side of the door is a clue that it's part of the hospital complex. I did get a pretty good photo shoot out of the ordeal and I posted full shots of the building in old posts. However, I never cropped out the doors, so this is somewhat new. If anyone is interested in joining the opening doors challenge, you can check it out at Heaven in Belgium on Monday.
If anyone is interested in Weekend Snapshot, that is a Monday meme.

A hospital!? I didn't imagine it to be part of a hospital or the dentist's clinic. This is such a grand building but I won't like to visit if it belongs to the dentist. haha...

Great cropping, Carver!! you know, I actually did that too, I found one recent picture and I cropped it to show the door... but I wasn't happy with the quality since it was taken with the cam which is now being repaired... tempting, very tempting, of course!!

Those are fancy doors for a dental office. Although a castle liked that might have a dungeon.

I added myself to the wrong post! Sorry, Carver. These are beautiful doors. So much variety!

That's a beautiful place. It looks like a historical place and I wouldn't have thought that part of it is the dentist's clinic.

Deceptive doors...luring you in with their beauty then...ouch...dentists? I thought they were doors to an old cathedral.

Welcome to Opening Doors, Carver!
I just love how you melted the two memes together, into one very interesting post!
That last ruby door, is one I would be very reluctant to open myself. Unless, you need urgent help, in which case it's probably more of a rescue place, huh? I truly enjoyed this! Thanks ever so much!

Hi Carver. These are great photos. Awesome doors that I would have guessed to be on a church. Sure can't go on appearances. Great post!!

Oh I am sorry! Can you take me off your weekend snapshot thingy? I did take this shot yesterday, but I am not signed up for that meme.

I was just so excited about your doors that I didn't pay attention to what I was doing. These are great doors -- though after your story, I think I like them best from the outside! LOL!

Thanks again to everyone for visiting and commenting. Quilly I removed the linky. I know it's confusing when I do multiple memes with one post. I'm amazed to be posting daily which I've never done. I have been winging my way through these combo ones, ha.
