The photohunt theme is stripes. I began by looking around my house for stripes. The pillow has stripes of different widths. Some of the stripes have designs within them.
When I first replaced my bedroom window with a door leading out to the deck, I intended to keep it free of curtains so I could watch the birds when I wake up. I have privacy with the deck wall unless someone is on the deck. After a few close calls with the gas mete reader (the meter is accessed from my deck), I decided to put up a striped blanket for privacy. I don't want to scare the poor readers to death with a glimpse of my aging body au naturel.I only wear vertical stripes at my current weight although I have a small handbag that has horizontal stripes. It's not easy to mix and match stripes because they often clash with each other.
I spotted a striped umbrella at a garden center. For more stripes please visit the home of photohunters where people post on Saturday.

I like the 'clash' of stripes photo ...

I love your sense of humor! that sentence about your body au naturel cracked me up :)
I don't wear horizontal stripes either, your findings are beautiful, Carver, love that pillow and the umbrella.
Mine is up, happy hunting and happy weekend!
you are always very prolific with your hunt. i love that pillow, it has that southwestern design, right?
You found some great stripes for photo hunt. You might even need to put up the striped umbrella for shade on this pretty day.
Excellent post (and funny!). I too avoid horizontal stripes at all times. I love the contrasting stripes in all the bags.
Have a great weekend! And I believe you said one time that you pull for UNC, so Go Heels! (sorry if I'm remembering wrong).
I love your post...I have never thought about stripes in this way...*smile*
Have a great weekend!
Lots of stripes at your house Carver. I was stumped at first but managed to find something a little different. Happy weekend.

Super stripes for this week and love your iris picture. :)
These are lovely stripes and I must say I had LOLed on that part with the meter reader :D
Happy weekend, Carver!
Too funny, Carver! (Your "au naturel" comment.)
It's amazing how many items are made of striped fabric once you start looking, isn't it?
you got lots of stripes there miss carver
Alway enjoy reading your posts Carver :)
I agree with Yen - but these are all great finds with such a great story!
Good spotting (or should I say "striping"? ;b)! Like me, I think you could/can see stripes virtually everywhere you look! :)
I'll be screaming my head off if I were to awake with someone standing out there peering through the door!!!
Having the curtains for privacy is better for sure :)
Happy Weekend Carver!!
I like the stripes on that pillow. I have never fancy curtains with stripes in my house but I would like to try it once. :)
The pillow reminds me of a couch my aunt has! Same print. Funny story about the striped blanket on your door. Great stripes shots!
Good colourful selection of Stripes.
Wow! You came up with a lot of stripes! I had a tough time coming up with just one photo! Nice job.
It seems like you are fond of "stripes". I love the first picture...it was so vibrant and full of color...nice one indeed
I love the sentence about your body 'au naturel', it made me smile :)
Great collection of stripes Carver!
My post is up too!

Anna
I love that pillow!
You found lots of stripes around your house. Very nice pictures. I love the idea of keeping the door bare to watch the birds...but I totally understand close encounters with the meter reader!
If you have a chance, come see my stripes picture too: http://www.fencedinfamily.com/blog/?p=1013
great collection of stripes Carver
You've got a great collection of stripes there.
I'm in the same category with wearing vertical stripes due to weight, if I wear stripes at all. Why do so many manufacturers think of horizontal stripes only???
There are lots of things in the house that has stripes. love your entry
that's a lot of stripes! good one!!
beautiful subjects especially the last one!
happy weekend Carver! :)
I was looking around my house at well for stripes and don't really have a whole lot but after napping on the couch and looking in the mirror, I noticed a whole lot of stripes on one side of my face from the corduroy cushion I was using to sleep on... hehe... that would've made quite the photo!
Good think I wasn't leaving the house for a couple hours!!! =D
A great series of photos for the topic!
You did an excellent job of looking around and finding strips. And so diverse. Great hunting.

I love stripes but I'm afraid it's no flattering on me. :)

Stripes are all around!

A great collection of stripes! I had to laugh about the meter reader! And of course the vertical stripes are the only way to go for me!
My stripes are here.
Too bad I'm not a member of photohunt. I have a cat we nicknamed "Stipey", for obvious reasons>

Lots of neat stripes, Such a fun umbrella!
Sweetanlo's Stripes
Great bright variety of stripes! I am not a big size and still avoid wearing horizontal stripes because they seem to give the body a weird visual shape! As I am not tall, the look isn't good!
I'd say that's an excellent selection of stripes! Nice post for the theme this week!
Stripes. They are everywhere.
I am late posting for the hunt but glad I did and saw your wonderful choices...the last photo is very inviting!
Nice going on the stripes.. well done!
