Weekend Snapshot: Number 31

This has been a rainy weekend devoted to trying to do my taxes. The good news is that I was pleasantly surprised by the outcome of my taxes and they are FINISHED. For my weekend snapshots, I'm featuring photographs I took earlier this week. It has been great to get some rain and the more the merrier. We have been in an extreme drought so it will take a lot to pull out of it.
I usually think of autumn as being the time of year when the clouds are the most amazing. However, the clouds on April Fool's Day rivaled any I saw this fall.
There are so many trees in my neighborhood that it's hard to get a clear shot of the clouds in part of the sky, when I shoot them from my house.
I did like the contrast and added texture I got from shooting the clouds from my yard, and including the trees. However, the next shot was taken standing in the middle of the road so I could get the solo cloud.Fortunately, no one ran me down while I was getting the shot. A neighbor did pull up behind me in the middle of the road, but he waited for me to snap my shot before driving on.The last shot wasn't taken this week but I thought it fit in with my cloudy sky shots so I'm including it anyway. It was taken a few weeks ago.

I hope everyone has a great week. To find other participants you can go to the home of WS - Weekend Snapshot or to technorati

Those are wonderful photos....I love clouds....I can remember as a child thinking how cool it would be to just be floating on a cloud...it wasn't till I got older that someone told me I could try to float on a cloud but I would fall through....now how mean is that to burst one's bubble....

Have a great day!

Spectacular shots! I loved the intense white and blue and the clarity. I also enjoyed the setting sun as the last shot. Very appropriate! lol

that is one almighty puff of cloud!

i remember taking the train into Wales... for some reason, clouds that ordinarily in England would signify heavy rain are quite the norm over the Welsh valleys... esp. those anvil-clouds, steep, sinister mile-high monsters that precede massive lightning and rain...

Carver said...

Hi Gledwood, I've never been able to figure out which clouds mean rain and which are just castles for my amusement.

Great photos of the sky. I love looking at clouds with my son. We try to imagine different shapes that we see in the sky.

I wasn't able to join WS and PH last week but if you have time, I'd like to share photos of our visit to Ocean Adventure. Take care.
