Photohunt: Glass

The photohunt theme this week is glass. I love to watch glassblowing and I wish I had been into photography back when I have been places where I watched the artist/craftsman demonstrate glassblowing. Since I don't have any photographs of that I decided to photograph some of my colored glass.First I took my blue glass vase outside and took pictures of it beside various flowers, that I was considering for an arrangement. I like the way the shot above shows how dark the blue glass vase is in certain light.
I took the second shot after I had picked the flowers and I like the way it shows how translucent the glass is in a certain light.

Once I got the vase filled with freshly cut flowers inside, I took a picture of it next to two different sizes of rose colored wine glasses I have. The last shot is of my wine colored glass decanter with a couple of cordial glasses.

I am looking forward to seeing what others are doing with the glass theme. I hope everyone has a great weekend. I am posting very early, even for me, because we are due to have thunderstorms, beginning this afternoon and on through Saturday. If I take a while visiting, it will be because I have shut down my computer to be safe from the boomers.

To view other photohunt posts, you can find who has posted at the home of the hunt on Saturday, here -

Or you can browse for other early birds on the technorati site, here -

You have some great shots for the theme. I was at a loss but after looking at your post my eyes have opened up to all the glass around me :)

Thanks so much to everyone for your comments and for visiting my PH post. I appreciate it.

For-AbbeyDog, your human-mom K. has told me you are afraid of thunderstorms. Don't worry you didn't hurt my feelings for forgetting that humans don't have long tails like you do. To be blunt, if I try to hide under my bed my rear end would probably be visible too, although not long and skinny like your beagle tail.

Verrrrrry nice! I love the different looks too -- you would hardly guess that they were the SAME vase!

I actually ALMOST did use pictures from when I visited the corning plant and actually made my own "pulled glass" flower -- but since I already did a whole humongous post on that back when I did it, I decided to go with something different for this!

GREAT choices Carver!

Very lovely photos, Carver. The blue glass vase is just beautiful - and so are your flowers. Stay safe in those storms. We have been having typical summertime thunderstorms, too, and expect them to fire up again this afternoon.

Thanks for stopping by the creek - blessings on your weekend and week to come.

I hope you aren't affected badly by the thunderstorms. We're expecting some unseasonal snow overnight or tomorrow, but nothing too extreme.
