Weekend Snapshot: Number 46

This was the perfect weekend for photographing clouds where I live. The minute I wrote that I thought, wow, what an exciting life you live Carver when the weekend highlight is having great clouds to photograph. It may not be very exciting but I do love clouds and we had plenty of them all this weekend. The morning each day this weekend began with mostly blue skies. Then the clouds became more dense, afternoon showers, then some clearing by sunset.
Saturday when I pulled into the grocery store parking lot I could see people moving a little faster as if they were trying to beat the storm. I on the other hand stood in the middle of the parking lot shooting the clouds before I even went into the store to buy my groceries.
Even taking the time for a parking lot photo shoot, I managed to get home, unload my groceries, and shoot some more clouds in my back yard before the rain.
It seems like a bonus when the rain stops just in time for the sunset to fill up the sky before dark.
It's so pleasant too for the cycle to begin again the next day. If it's going to be as hot as it has been this summer, having frequent showers makes a huge difference to the vegetation. So far we have had enough rain this summer to keep the reservoir, which provides my city with water, from being depleted again.

You can find other participants on technorati, here - and on Monday at the WS Home here - Weekend Snapshot.

But clouds are so exciting, not to mention the sunsets, sunrises, trees! animals, anything with beautiful light, I very nearly drive my family nuts with the; "oh, I've just gotta get this photo.."

It overtakes you somehow, we seem to become the camera lens with a brain.

Get that photo! Bless digital photography, too, no more filling up the house with pictures, now, just fill up the computer. :)

Gorgeous cloud data recorded Carver.

You did well to actually get your shopping done, I have been known to go off and intend to do the shopping...and get a little sidetracked, wander off in landscape land and come home minus food.

Oops.

I love the strong contrast between the blue and white. Now that I take sky pictures I am always looking at the sky in a different way. I guess we always need to be looking up also!

I love the contrast of the blue and white. Always love your cloud pictures since we don't really get them here, and I do miss them.

Great pictures.

Thanks so much to everyone for visiting my weekend snapshot. I had to laugh Pam at you setting off on an errand and getting side tracked. That is so much like me. I also think digital photography is great. I have tons of old snapshots but probably a zillion times more digital shots now and the storage is so much easier. I hope everyone is having a good week.

Those are some great shots. We rarely get big clouds here; just tiny skinny ones that run across the bay.

Beautiful photos of the sky. I love watching clouds go by and sometimes my son and I try to make up objects we see in the clouds.

Sorry I signed your Mr. Linky twice. I made a mistake on my earlier link.
