Today's Flowers and Weekend Flowers: Road Trip Shots

There are still plenty of road side flowers in North Carolina.

I was glad to be a passenger and get some shots before they are all zapped by frost.

The next shot is from Spruce Pine, NC a small town in the mountains.

Although the next shot isn't of flowers, for me fall leaves look like flowers.

I spotted the yarrow below on a hike.

The next shot is also from a hike.

The shot below was one I took in Spruce Pine.

I spotted many clusters of flowers in the forest like the ones below.

I think the trees at the Elk River Falls look like they are dotted with flowers, although they are leaves.

The flowers below were in front of the motel we stayed at.

The flowers below gave the highway a splash of color.

The sunflowers were all going to seed.

I am surprised to see so many flowers still in bloom! A great series Carver, and I love the second last "drive by" capture.

Lovely Fall....those mountains in your state are amazing ... we were lucky enough to RV through there on one of our trips and we loved it.

I love the time of shy sunflower heads and pumpkins. Lovely to see so much still flowering in your neck of the woods.
