Photohunters: Zip and A Vehicle

Having recently returned home from a road trip, I have photographs I took from a vehicle when I got to zip by scenery.
PHzipvehDSCN3236
Our vehicle got to zip up and down hills in the NC mountains.
PHzipvehDSCN3275
We had a mix of weather but it didn't interfere with our getting in some hikes as well as zipping by the sights in a vehicle.
PHzipvehDSCN3294
We got out of our vehicle to hike up a trail and see the Elk River waterfall.
PHzipvehDSCN3358
There's no way I would have the energy to zip by scenery on the vehicle in the next shot.
PHzipvehDSCN3403
The next shot is from another hike where we got out of our vehicle to climb up to the Crabtree Meadow waterfall.
PHzipvehDSCN3455
I was on the passenger side of the vehicle and managed the next shot across the driver.
PHzipvehDSCN3493
I spotted a rock quarry below while zipping around in a vehicle.

Recently I've managed to limit myself to one shot for photohunters.

This week the two photohunt themes worked well for posting my vacation shots and is very long.
PHzipvehDSCN3551
Considering how it's not always easy to zip around corners in the mountains, I don't see how the cyclists do it.
PHzipvehDSCN3557
We saw quite a few people on bicycles that looked like they were training for a race.
PHzipvehDSCN3578
There were also a number of people on motorcycles.
PHzipvehDSCN3579
It would be easier to zip around the mountains on a motorcycle than on a bicycle.
PHzipvehDSCN3582
I enjoyed the variety of clouds we saw from our vehicle.
PHzipvehDSCN3664
One evening we rode off into the sunset to eat at a place with a great view.
PHzipvehDSCN3721
Heading home there were large groups of motorcycles.
PHzipvehDSCN3759
We zipped past roadside flowers in our vehicle as we got closer to home.

Lovely vacation shots! Road trips are the best especially this time of year when the autumn colours make the country-side so much prettier Really liked your waterfall shots too :)

I'm so glad you decided to do a long post for these themes because these photos are awesome. I hope you had a great time in our beautiful NC mountains. Seeing this post reminds me how lucky I am to live here in the Tar Heel state!

Beautiful road trip shots. How long all told did the trip take?

Thanks to everyone for visiting. To answer the questions, it took under 4 hours to get to the motel where we stayed in the mountains. But we had a rainy morning where we drove to the other side of the mountains which was several hours round trip. Even when we hiked we had drives of varying lengths to different forests. We were there for 4 days.

I thoroughly enjoyed your beautiful photography. Mountain scenery is so beautiful, especially with the foliage changes. It sounds like you really had a fun filled vacation and got a bit of exercise, as well.

My Saturday Photo Hunting is about India, what else. Only 45 days left of my six months stay. I'll be back in San Francisco on Dec 3rd, in time for Christmas!

That is a beautiful part of the country ~ I love that the leaves are starting to change.
You sure you weren't zipping on one of those motorcycles???

The two memes are definitely a great combination for a roadtripper! I could have done this with our current one (except I am neither smart enough to have thought of it or a good enough photographer to post it as beautifully as you did!). Anyway, I love roadtrips (well, you knew that) and I love the area you were tripping through, so thank you for the great post.
