We have had some chilly rainy days but the rain has ended on the coldest nights and days. In general, when it has been below freezing it is drier so far.
Hard to believe we're into the second week of November.
There's still a lot of fall color in central NC where I live.
Before long though the trees will have lost all their leaves.
The children aren't allowed to feed the ducks but they got their attention with pine straw of all things.
There were only two cormorants that I saw on a Sunday walk.
I usually see more cormorants this time of the year at Shelley Lake.
I saw a few mallards, Canadian Geese and white ducks.
In general though, I didn't see as many water birds as I usually do.
I love the way the pine boughs look against the orange leaves in the shot above.
We had a spectacular sunset after a rainy day.
It's a treat to get a sunset after the rain ends.
I think I like leaves on the ground as much as I do on the trees.

One cormorant seems to be beckoning the other to come in for a dip! These are wonderful shots. It's great the way the fall colors are lingering this year. It's tough when some crazy storm rips the season away from us.

Beautiful shots and scenes. I especially like the glitter on the water in the cormorant ones and that nice, clear moon shot.
All our leaves are down now, except for the brown of the oaks, and it's snowing today.

Looks like most of the birds Canada has sent you are on their way, Carver. But it sure has been a strange year. I don't know where all the birds are.
