Photohunters: Humble and Your Morning
I photographed this humble ati (hut) at the NC Biographical Garden in Chapel Hill, NC during a morning walk several years ago. This is a replica of the huts the Occaneechi Indians lived in. You can see the morning light on the hut and I think it's definitely a humble home.

That's certainly a humble abode.
Most definitely a humble abode. Those who lived in dwellings like this must have had a really hard life...
I love seeing things like this ... it really brings home what it would have been like for them, so much more than words in a history book.
I can't imagine living in one. Not having electricity is a huge problem for me :P
A far cry from some of the giant homes people live in today!

a (nipa) hut is called kubo in our country. our ancestors mostly dwelt in this type of abode long ago, some live more humbly in caves.
it sometimes makes me wonder if i could survive living in such a condition.
