The photohunters theme this week is plastic. Plastic is a popular material for playground equipment. My posts often feature the lake and greenway trails near my house. Almost all of these trails start or end with playgrounds for children and plastic is a part of the building material for this equipment. The first one is at Shelley Lake and the second one is at the Optimist Park. Both of these parks are very close to where I live which was nice when my daughter was growing up.
You may notice that the one thing these parks are missing is children. That's not always the case. I took these pictures on cold winter days. For other photohunters please visit the home of the Photohunt (posts Saturday mornings).

Perfect for Plastic, Carver!
Nice plastics and definitely safe for the kids to play around in :)
No wonder... I was hunting for grasses. The playgrounds looked so complete. I'm sure children would swarm the whole place in summer. :)

this is a great idea for your topic! yey you!
The playground is clean and well managed. Playground at my housing area is dirty. Haha.. Normally, we wont let the kids go out to play due to the hygiene issues.
Perfect! All that's missing are the kids and their hovering parents
why didnt i think of this? i was at a loss for ideas n i let my son do it :)
Beautiful shots for the theme, Carver. I love the Optimist Park!!
very nice. Happy PH, mine is posted.
Love your photos. I love playgrounds. We are kind of on the same wavelength this week (fun plastic for kids).
Hope you have a great holiday weekend!
I think this theme is going to be an eye opener as well. Nice take, Carver. Happy long weekend.
wow...I am sure that Jason LOVE to be there ;)
My entry this week: in HERE. I hope that you can stop by as well. Thanks
I thought about using this for the theme Carver but I could not find any great photos as you have done. I think these colourful playgrounds are very attractive.
Have a good weekend.
A great take on the theme, Carver! We don´t have playgrounds like yours here...*smile*
This was a really difficult theme for me - I could not find any ´plastic´ (except for my cards) so I had to "invent" something.
Happy long weekend.
That's a lovely playground. It's nice to have one close by for the kids to enjoy.
Looks like a fun safe place for the kids to play :)
Wow - what great colorful fun places to play!!
Happy Weekend.
Playgrounds are so wonderful - and safe - these days!
I considered this as a subject, but I figured you'd beat me to it. I was right! And nicely done too.
Clever shots for this week, Carver. :)
Have a great weekend. :)

Perfect catch for Photohunt's theme... Mine's up too... hope you can drop by... Happy weekend!
But how bright and cheerful it all looks, even in winter! Nice for the theme!
My Plastic entry is up, too.
I envy kids nowadays, they have such beautiful playgrounds unlike before. All we had are like metals and wood stuffs. That was not so long ago like 20yrs...hehe
This is great for the theme..I didn't know what it was for this week....
I was SURE you snuck out real early in the morning, and took these photos, and then laughed when you said it was winter and that is why there were no kids playing! Great take on this weeks word! My hunt is up, please come and visit
kids nowdays...so lucky - plastics cushion falls unlike the metal or wooden ones I've played one in the past.
I am sure a lot of children have fun times here :)
Oh its nice to see those kind of playgrounds pretty. My son will love that. Happy weekend. Mine is ready for a visit.
I somtimes forget how much plastic there is in our world... good reminders..
it amazes me the difference in life pre plastic and post plastic
These look like wonderful playgrounds. The children in your area sure are lucky for having access to them!
my boys love those plastic! :)
i just took a photo of play equipment last week; but cant show you as my blog is broken. i like the photo of all the horses in a circle; what a great idea
it's fabulous place for kids to cool off. happy weekend.
And for more than the playground. Our road rumbles with the sound of plastic wheels as the kids play roulette with the traffic. Makes me dither in more ways than one.
Those look like fun playgrounds. Happy weekend.
Very nice, Carver. I'm personally not fond of plastic, but it does make life fun and safer for children, doesn't it?
Hope you have a blessed weekend.
This is perfect shots for plastic Carver!
But I can hear the plastics crying for someone to play with them..
Mine is up too!
Have a great weekend :)
Anna

nice playgrounds. love the color of the plastic accessories.
Cold winter days? But everything is so green!
Hi Carver,
Hope all has been well, as you know I haven't been blogging much lately- which means I have been a bad vistor lately.
Always like your ideas on photo hunt. Playgrounds are a great place, especially for kids who don't have yards. Great take.
I thought maybe you were in New Zealand or something.
I thought about playground equipment for our plastic theme this week! Great choice!
Kind of sad to see this place without the children.
Makes it bit scary even.
Nicely done.
Very nice for plastic... I love how colorful they make this equipment... there is one near our old house that was a bright purple! Mine is up here.
That playground looks like a lot of fun.
Lovely playgrounds! The second one looks idyllic. One of the best uses of plastic.
It's wonderful to live near trails, parks and playgrounds. Nice photo and nice place.
My plastics are here: http://blondesherry.blogspot.com/2009/05/photohunt-plastic.html
Sherry at EX Marks the Spot
Both playgrounds look like so much fun! The playground at the park next to our school is pretty sad in comparison. Nice choice for the theme this week :)
I wanna have a ride on the "doggie". :)
Excellent choice for this week's theme. It looks like a fun park.
lovely shots.. but where are all the children? Was it early or late?
Great take on Plastic!
