The photohunt theme is painted. I used to have a variety of dianthus called painted dianthus which was lost years ago during a drought. I had this variety for 5 or 6 years with it coming back from the roots each year. Below is a shot I took in 1999 with my first digital camera so the quality isn't very good.I think my macro shots of the morning glory almost look like they were painted.
My neighbor's iris below looks like it was painted to me. I guess the morning glory and iris are a stretch for the theme but I do tend to think of flowers as having been painted by an invisible artist.
For more photohunters, please visit the home of the hunt on Saturday. I am posting early as usual.

Now that dianthus is really nice. Thanks for the name.
I agree ... I also think of flowers as having been painted by an invisible artist. And your lovely photos proves that.

Wow - beautiful!!!
Happy Weekend.
Hey, Carver, I wouldn't call that a "stretch", I'd call that "artistic license" and I believe that those Photohunter themes you do probably have a great amount of license. I loved the shots of the morning glory glowing and the iris, my favorite flower! It does look painted.
Fabulous photos for this week! :)

I like your creative thinking here, Carver. ;-)
Lovely colors, why settle for something painted when you can have these in their natural color? :)
Your macro shots do resemble painted flowers.

My Painted entry is up, too. Hope you'll stop by!
Nature is always the best artist, isn't it? :)
Nature is the most magnificent artist... we humans are mere copiers. Mine is up here.
Painted flowers. How creative! I love your take. I have never seen painted dianthus before. Too bad you lost them. They are beautiful.
The hand of the Lord painted those flowers, so I think your photos are majestic! Love the Iris! come on over for a visit soon
