All week I thought that the photohunt theme this week was wild, and next week was strings. I thought it would work well to show you my wild home for both the last day of the opening doors challenge and for the photohunt theme. At first, when I found out this week was strings for PH, I was flustered until I realized there are strings in my wild environment, in case I ever want to be tidy (like that's going to happen). On the left hand side of the picture, you can see the open door which leads onto my deck from the yard. The door in the middle with the lamp shining through leads from my bedroom onto the deck. Have you found the strings yet? You may have to click inside for an enlargement to see them but there are vertical strings on the wall which is on the right hand side which can be used to support the wild and stringy vines which are growing over the deck wall.
The shot above shows you the top of the door leading into my greenhouse. If you look closely, you may see the horizontal strings which are there to support my roses. If you enlarge the picture you can see the vertical strings on the left side of the greenhouse which used to support clematis until they were killed by a drought and currently support morning glories.
Above is my front door with the virginia creeper which sprung up wild and is growing all over the railing, attaching to the house, and goes around the door. The vine is useful as string when I pull it up.
The last shot shows the doorway of the barn at an old farm house where I lived with friends for a while when I took a break from college in 1977. One of my friends who I lived with, visited in between our 50th birthdays and we checked out the now abandoned farmhouse and barn. A wee bit sad to see it so overgrown with stringy vines covering the barn.
Thank you Jjentje for coming up with this fun opening doors challenge and as always thank you to TNchick for the photohunt. The opening doors challenge was hosted at Heaven in Belgium and for photohunt you can go to PhotoHunt or photohunt

I even saw one flee on your roses !! and the strings in the first picture, lol !
Your garden looks lovely I love it wild growing (or maybe it's an excuse to not cut the flowers and bushes in my garden !)
Beautiful photos

What an amazing looking wild home you have, Carver! :)
Do I see wind chimes? They have strings too.
Your home looks very pleasant, nice that the Strings gave you a chance to share it.
I like the old farmhouse picture ver much - such atmosphere.
Pretty roses!
I LOVE that last shot Carver! Very atmospheric!!
I had strings for my peas in the garden this year, but alas, we were gone so much the garden didn't get the attention it deserved.
wow, you are an overachiever
I love every shot here. The stringy viney wildness and the great doors through all the wildness. Great post Carver...
I'm leaving 2 links one strings and my last door...
Sorry to foul up your Mr. Linky with 3 links...I accidently posted 2 for strings :0)
Where would all those beautiful flowers be without strings to support the vines?
Good choice of photo's.

Thanks for the visit and comments. It's always a pleasure to have you drop by.
Gorgeous surroundings, Carver! Your garden shots are wildly beautiful, if subtly tamed by strings (which I spied only because you pointed them out). I see your artistic touch isn't limited to photography, but eXtends into into gardening as well. Lovely.
Nice set of photos from both your challenges.
Very nice, Carver. Your lovely vines reminded me of something else I could posted for "string" - string beans. =)
Hope you are having a delightful weekend.
I don't know about the string but the roses are lovely! And the virginia creeper.
Great catch for the theme! You have surrounded yourself with so much beauty.
I can't see the strings but I can see excellent photos. Happy weekend
Oh what beautiful photos of "strings"!
Happy Weekend.
Those are all beautiful pictures! I love how the strings are holding the plants up!
Plenty of strings here! And I love your doors, and all your beautiful plants. The door challenge has been great fun.
It is like a photohunt in a photohunt! Very creative ideas!
Your little twine tree below would have worked for string, too! Love your pics.
Hi Carver. Excellent post for both challenges today. I saw the strings in the first photo right away, and had to enlarge it to figure out what you meant about the doors, lol.
Now that Opening Doors is over, I wonder what the next photo challenge will be, and who will host it, haha. Can hardly wait.
Thanks for stopping by - very cool to meet a fellow North Carolinian photo hunter! I agree with you, I don't mind the rain as long as the trees stay up and the power stays on. I hope we don't have another one come through now that the ground is all wet.
And great entry - wonderful photos and I love how you combined two challenging themes into one. Have a great weekend!
I see you were up for the challenge afterall.
I think if we [I?] get the information / the title / theme early enough, then it can sort of percolate through the week. It's actually great as it makes us more attuned and inventive.
Cheers
Me again, Ellen. I can't believe I missed so many of your Opening Door posts this week, but I've now gone and had a look at them all, leaving comments on each. I'm glad I took the time to go look as they are all great posts.
What a lovely enchanted garden. You have to really work to see the strings...and that's a good thing in a garden!
Hi, super post for this week. Hope your weekend went well. :)
wow such beautiful shots. i like the one with the red flowers best... or maybe the first one. i can't decide! they are all pretty!
I can see the strings all right :) A really lovely set of photos.
Beautiful photos! :)
Thanks so much to everyone for visiting. I appreciate your comments so much.
Ohhh... I picked up this lovely idea of having vertical and horizontal strings to support my climbing plants!! I was planning to construct a wooden structure. Thanks!
Another bunch of wonderful photos!
Kudos!
that's a fine garden and space you have. I would have tweaked every bit here and there like u.
Thanks again to everyone for visiting. I appreciate.
I have enjoyed seeing all the doors over the past few days. I didn't do PH this week, I couldn't find any strings then I ran out of time.
Nice shots. I love the beautiful vines.
Haha! A 2 in one post! Wildly beautiful place you got there! :)
