There are a few other trees beginning to get their fall colors.
Most of the trees are still green but beginning to have subtle changes.
There are a few male cardinals that still have their transitional feathers.
The female cardinal below is resting on my rocking chair arm rest.
The mourning dove is foraging on my deck.
The catbird is on my deck wall. The biggest change is the cooler temperatures which I like.

Oh how lovely the way the female cardinal has spread her tail where she sits!
I agree, nice capture of the cardinal. Love the fall colors too. :)
Lovely captures of autumn marvels!
Lovely fall colours! And I love the shot of the cardinal with the beautiful shadow of the tail feathers.

Fall is coming! Will the cardinal stay all winter?
Thanks for visiting. To answer the question, yes the cardinals do stay here all winter.
I love the 2nd shot
what a burst of color
and your bird portraits are wonderful :)
Lovely photo...thanks for sharing them with those of us who love birds. The cardinal was always one of my favourites when I lived in Ontario, but unfortunately, they do not make it over to the west coast...
Another beautiful series of photos. Love the cardinal with her ruffles.
