Both Saturday Photohunts: Tree Branches and Bling

The theme at Saturday Photohunting is Tree Branches and the theme at The Saturday Photohunt is Bling. I'll start with some shots I took of my daughter in 2007 when she was 22 and home in between undergraduate school and Law School.

We were going on a walk and she couldn't resist the tree branches which were perfect for climbing. I've posted some of her tree branch climbing shots before but I like these old thick branches as well as my daughter, of course.

For the Bling theme, I though I'd go with the Egyptian funereal art in the NC Museum of Art.

Love the pics of your daughter! I used to love to climb trees too. :) Great choice for ancient bling as well.

Happy photo hunting, this week I could not combine the themes in one photo, but did play both :)

Oh my goodness I love that tree, I would have climbed too.

I see resemblance between mother and daughter. You both look lovely.

Here's to more fun photo hunting in 2012.

Hi Carver, I love your takes on both themes! The Egyptian bling at NCMA is perfect and makes me laugh. And I love to see your daughter climbing that great old tree.

Hope you have a nice weekend.

Hi Carver --

Agree with Louise that that tree looked great for climbing. And teehee re your choice of seriously ancient bling for this week! :)

What a perfect climbing tree. I wouldn't have been able to resist it when I was young, either.
And even though the word was thousands of years in the future, the Egyptians certainly knew a thing or two about bling, didn't they? "Lots of gold, and then more gold"!

I like your bling shot. I went with some bling behind a glass case as well this week since i don't have any laying around the house.

Have a great weekend.

There is something so comforting about a tree! Nature's way of offering shelter if you need it! Great branches there and love your daughter's smile! As for the Egyptian bling, their statuary, I am sure, was the beginning of sculpture with bling! This one is gorgeous!

Those are all cool shots -- but I adore the one of your daughter in the big old tree! I know a lot about her just from that joyful picture (and I know it would be great to know her - -- and her mother!)
