Photohunters: Ripped
I did a double take the first time I heard the word ripped being used on an advertisement for a body building program.
When I googled the word ripped, I read that it is a term which can be used for a low fat to higher muscle ratio so it doesn't have to mean bulky muscles.
It still seems like a strange use of the word ripped but it helped me come up with something that would be easy in terms of finding photographs in my archives for the ripped theme.
When people are running, biking or exercising at the parks and on the trails near me, I don't get in their face with my camera.
I do sometimes photograph people working on ripped muscles when I'm a ways back from them doing slightly stealth photography.
I still find the idea of ripped being used as a positive term for conditioning strange.
To me ripped sounds more like it would mean pulling a muscle as opposed to conditioning it.
By the way, these shots are ones I took in a variety of seasons and none are very recent shots. Click for the home of photohunters.

It is a strange use of the word isn't it??? These are great pics though and absolutely work with the theme. Happy photo hunting, and happy weekend! I wonder what next week's theme will be :)
So nice to see all people in motion there, great action in these pictures!
And the park is beautiful!

I felt very lost with this week's theme, you did wonderfully, Carver!!

I agree, it's a strange way to talk about people trying to get in shape. You've got a great collection of pics that work for it!
I should have done this one as I ripped my favorite pair of jeans..But yours is a much better take on the them carver..
Hi & Greetings! Trust this finds you in high spirits. Thanks for beautiful series of pictures. I am simply ripped by the explanations:) Please visit my latest post. Regards Ram
Hi Carver --
I'm with you re feeling funny about the term ripped being used in relation to muscular bodies, preferring to take photos of people without their faces being visible -- AND having used photos taken a while back for this week's Photo Hunt entry! :)
Love the way you used the theme for your photos this week. :)
All those ripped bodies! THe last time I was ripped was a couple of years ago when I fell down a few stairs and ruptured my quadriceps tendon. I was in a cast for for six weeks and off work for four months!
You found nice interpretations of the word !
As TNChick doesn't continue, I start next week with "Photo Hunting" exactly the same as "Photo Hunters" but with a new logo and I'll try to make up a link list. The theme list is already done and will be published next week. If you want to join leave your link in Mr. Linky !
The Photo Hunting takes place here
