Dona Nobis Pacem for Photohunters Light
I decided to combine the photohunters light theme with Mimi's Blog Blast for Peace.
The combination works literally and figuratively. My peace globe above uses a photograph of a mourning dove where the background of the shot has whirls of light and the darker green in solid.
In photography, depending on which direction you shoot in the light changes the image, apart from the different perspective.
Light can be used in imagery for peace such as the light of love, moving from the darkness of war to the light of peace.
In order to achieve any lasting peace it is necessary to understand the perspective of others and move away from an us and them mentality.

What a lovely idea. Darn.. I need more words! LOL THis morning reading posts I'm killing off "lovely" and "wonerful", but there are so many posts that deserve those wofds.
This one is both AND has smashing nature photos. :-)
best Blogblast wishes to you!
Lovely idea and post! I too am celebrating peace today, and my photo hunters will be online tomorrow :)

Hi Carver. Yes, I'm still around! Just on a longish hiatus, but I couldn't miss posting today.
Peace to you and your family.
Peace, light, perspective... well done.
Namaste!
As always, your photos are great! I loved this post and the message you conveyed.
I always love your photos Carver. Happy weekend :)
Very clever way to combine your posts. Great photos.
Peace be with you and yours.
A very nice photo-essay indeed, Carver. I have to admit that I didn't realize Blog Blast for Peace was still going on -- I participated one year a while back but haven't in a while.
Lovely photos--the first one of the morning dove is so nice. Peace--it is what we all are searching for. Peace be with you. Mickie :)
I do not know your preference to music genre, but to every bird lover like myself I have to recommend listening to The Eels- I like Birds. It is a fun and to the point tune you can find on YouTube.
I love your perspective on peace. I recently moved to the desert and on my first day sitting on the back porch, I see two doves perched on the wire. I took this as a symbol of peace and love. An omen of such in my new home.
Peace be with you! May your light always be right with you!
These are beautiful. Have a fabulous weekend.

what a beautiful place to walk and enjoy the autumn sunshine, thanks for sharing with us
A nice thought provoking post.
I really love the first photo. The bird is just so beautiful! Breat shots!
Beautiful images and text. Love the way you use the light to express your view.
Nice shots and thoughts!
I like it in both color and B&W..for different reasons..I think the soft colors of the dove highlight the essence of peace while the other shows us how stark the contrast between the wish and the reality is. I was late with mine...You really did a wonderful job on this...Michelle
Thanks for 'getting' my Peace Badge..
It looks like the same bird in your last 2 photos, except one is B & W
Nice take on the theme.
:-)
Trying to decide which of the two globes I like the most, I think I like the gentle colours of this one most...
Peace to you and yours
