Today's Flowers: Perking up
My crepe myrtle tree is still blooming and is perking up my back yard.
We have finally had a break from the horrid heat so hopefully more and more flowers will be perking up.
The first two shots are from my yard. The shots below of the canna lily were taken at a park near me.
Most of the canna lilies at this park were fried during the hot stage of summer but a few blossoms are still looking good.
There were a few wild rudbeckia on a trail I walked on but the heat and drought have definitely eliminated many of the wildflowers.
There were also some morning glories making a comeback.
Hopefully we are past the worse part of summer and with rain as well as cooler temperatures I hope we'll see more wildflowers make a comeback.

I love the canna lilies. You have had it hotter than we have, and I can't take New Jersey heat! We get terrible humidity, too.
Hope nature perks back up in the fall. The crepe myrtle looks splendid.
beautiful flowers
Oh they're just gorgeous flowers -- I'm glad they recovered from the terrible heat (and hope you have done the same ;>)
Pretty blooms!
Love the colorful canna lilies :)
I love those gorgeous lilies!
I can't wait to see some flowers again!
(5 more days! :))
I think I saw the canna in a town in Costa Rica. So rich in color. :)
I guess you'll want to add a facebook icon to your blog. I just bookmarked this url, although I had to complete it manually. Simply my 2 cents.

The Crepe Myrtle looks glorious. The Morning Glories also look beautiful - one of my favourite flowers but hard to grow well over here because they hate our changeable weather during summer.
Marvelous photos, all very beautiful and I loved the coloring on those canna lilies too. Thanks Carver.
Beautiful flowers. I loved the lilies.
Always lovely flowers that you find to share Carver.
The canna lilies are lovely but the Crepe Myrtle is my favorite.
Those canna lilies are simply beautiful...
