Today's Flowers: Here and There

I like the way one of my crepe myrtle trees peeks up over my roof.

Most of the roses on a bush in front of a medical office building had dropped off but a few remained.

I like the way one of my neighbors has created a privacy screen for their front porch with flowers.

The lavender crepe myrtle at the parking lot for Shelley Lake is still going strong.

I like this color a lot and wouldn't mind one at my house although it would clash with my other crepe myrtle trees. Then again I kind of like clashing colors in a garden.

Most of the roses have dropped off the bush below but in the early morning light they looked pretty to me.

I don't know what the plant below is but its flowers are almost all gone.

The next crepe myrtle forms a canopy over the sidewalk.

A very enjoyable series of photos Carver. Our crepe myrtles are not quite as colorful right now.

just what would the world be without these pops of color and you with your camera out.

Honestly I don't think there is such a thing as color clash in a garden!

We saw crepe myrtles for the first time last summer on our trip up the East coast. They're so beautiful. I was taking pictures like crazy and when I asked somebody what the tree was (I think we were in a rest stop) he looked at me like I was nuts -- apparently it is quite a common tree, but not one we ever see in the Northwest.

Every time I see a crepe myrtle I am a tad envious!
