Today's Flowers: July flowers

July is the month when crepe myrtle trees begin bursting into bloom in my neck of the woods. I have several in my yard and there are many more all over my neighborhood.

I love crepe myrtle trees and enjoy the different colors they come in.

I like the way some of them have a little hint of yellow in the center of their blossoms.

It's not that noticeable except in the macro or close-up shots but the variety above and below both have the yellow hint.

The wider shots below of the crepe myrtle with the touch of yellow shows how it's not noticeable when viewing the trees as a whole.

I kind of like the way the yellow is a fun surprise when you get closer but not noticeable when viewing the whole tree.

Below is the same crepe myrtle tree in the fourth shot but the lighting is different. I think the fourth shot was taken in the morning and the one below was close to dusk.

The last crepe myrtle shot I'm using is one growing over a sidewalk to form a dainty canopy.

Mimosa tree blooms are another of July's gifts.

I like their wispy flowers that have light strands of color forming little brushes.

My rudbeckia (black-eyed susan) is doing fairly well in spite of the heat.

They are such a cheerful bright flower.

Looks like something ate some petals off the coneflower below.

The hibiscus is still doing fairly well although some of the flowers have been burned by the heat.

I like the red in the hibiscus below.

The morning glory below looks like something is creating designs while eating.

The little bugs are visible in the center of the hibiscus below.

Next is a morning glory that hasn't been eaten yet.
