Photohunters: Twisted

The photohunters theme this week is twisted. I took these shots last winter of the twisted wood in the forest.

Photobucket

Because it was twisting around like a vine, I wondered if it was indeed a vine. However, it was so thick and hairless, it looked a lot more like a tree. I'll let you decide if it's a twisted tree or vine, or something else altogether.

For other twisted posts, please visit the home of the photohunt, beginning on Saturday.

There is a 'square' a sort of communal garden/backyard formed by the Brownstones along 80 St, 81 St, Riverside Drive and West End Ave and I can see out my bedroom window a tree I dubbed the roller coaster because its limbs do exactly what your photo focuses on .. and the squirrels love it

I'm not sure what they are. They look too twisted to be tree limbs but too thick to be vines. Cool shots!

Wow those are twisted branches! Great take on the theme!

Vines can get really thick if they've been left to grow for a long time. But I have no idea how to tell the difference between a vine and a branch, so don't quote me!

Here's my twisted entry

Isn't nature wonderful? I used a twisted tree trunk last time for this theme.

Happy weekend Carver.

Looks like tree rather than vine to me, Carver. Either way, it's a wonder of nature! :)

twisted was difficult for me... expected lots of people to use trees n roots... went in search for twisted roots n branches n failed n in the end i found a dragon :)

Amazing! I've never seen a tree do that, but nor have I seen a vine as large. Whichever it is, it fits the theme perfectly!

Nicely twisted =)

I have no idea whether vine or tree. Pretty freaky either way. Nice picks for "twisted" at any rate, huh? Good job!

That is awesome! Great find for the theme!

What a severely twisted limb if it is indeed part of the tree! I thought limbs twisted only if there was interference? Quite amazing!

I love walks in the woods. :) Nice photos.

I hope you get the chance to see My Photo Hunt for today! Have a great weekend.

There have been many tree photos and ever single one of them has been fascinating to me. I have to wonder why the branches twist around like that. I love the blue background. Nice shot
