Photohunt: Water
When I saw that the photohunt theme this week was water, I couldn't resist posting a few more shots from my vacation on the North Carolina (USA) coast.I love the ocean and have been fortunate to be able to spend time at the beach my entire life. I am only a 3 1/2 hour drive from the beach I went to this year, and live even closer to other spots on the coast. I love how the color of the ocean varies by time of day and also has variations by depth and other factors.
As beautiful as salt water is, there is nothing like soaking rains after a long drought. The shot below was taken from my bedroom door as I watched the rain in May pool and puddle on the deck and knew my 32 gallon containers were all getting full under the gutters.
The reservoir which supplies my city's drinking water reached 100 percent capacity by the end of spring this year which was great news. Considering our unseasonably hot weather in June, we were very lucky to get so much rain from March through May and have had a few showers in June.
The last shot is the water droplets on one of my roses. I hope that everyone has a great weekend.

The beach is just 10 minutes from my place. You need to drive 3.5 hours? Gosh.. that's far. :P I love your flower shot. I did somewhat like that too.

I have a very similar photo to your last one -- I wish I had thought of using it! I love the ocean, too - one of God's most intriguing and mesmerizing creations. You're so blessed to have gotten such rain! We're way below normal rainfall and they've been urging restraint in water usage.
I would love to swim in this beautiful water ! with the flowers of course !
I LOVE the water droplets on the roses. Great shots. Happy Saturday!
Those are great pictures! You are so lucky to be so close to the water!
These are wonderful photos of different aspects of water. I kept to the theme of oceans and seas today. Hope you'll come by and enjoy the photos. :D
Very nice photos you have there, Carver.

Beautiful shots. We are lucky to be about 15 minutes from some lovely beaches. The kids have spent many happy hours there.
I love the pictures of the ocean. It makes me want to swim!
That must have been a wonderful vacation. I'm glad the south is getting more rain this year because that was scary last year. The rose is very happy!
Beautiful photos of the ocean. I love the ocean too. I also find it amazing how it changes its color and temperament.
Great close up shot of the flower with water droplets.

The rose one is my favorite, but the wet wood comes in pretty close as favorite, but I'm partial to roses so I guess that doesn't count! LOL
I love the ocean too, and love your rose shot as well.
These are wonderful photos. I love the flower shot!
My weekend started late (since I had to work until 4pm -- hence the late Photo Hune entry as well). But it's been good so far -- as has been this week's Photo Hunt. Lots of great pictures seen thus far, including yours, Carver! :)
Ahhhh... rain! :)
I love the ocean too. I'm farther away now - not an easy trip.
You've got a nice set of photos for today.
Fantastic shots, Carver... I would be content sitting on a dock for hours! It's truly amazing the same scene with different conditions can appear so varied.
Wow - those are beautiful photos! Here's for good hopes with your water situation...
I, too, love the sea - it has a very special "call". I could stand and watch it for hours, and your photos are having the same effect :)

Beautiful shots! The drops on the rose are perfect.
All are lovely photos but I especially like the blue sea with a sailboat! Happy weekend!
Love the rain on the deck! I don't know why that always makes me think of washing everything away and starting off fresh.
Great shots, Carver! We went to the beach today - the water was COOOOLD! :)
Lovely shots. A three and a half hour drive? Makes me realize how lucky I am to live a fifteen minute walk from the seafront. Have a great weekend.
Those are wonderful water pictures! I love the water droplets on the rose. One of my pictures today is the Pacific Ocean - I really enjoy going to see the ocean too!
Hi Carver,
hope your vacation is still going well- the ocean is so fun to photograph, and like you I love a good rainstorm- love the water droplets you captured on the rose.
