Photohunt: Bright

My first thought when I saw that the photohunt theme this week was bright was - Star light, star bright, the first star I see tonight, I wish I may, I wish I might . . . I even tried to photograph the stars in the sky at night but none of the photographs worked. Therefore, I took a picture of a June sky map on top of a star quilt which is on a bed in my house. The sun is something else which I associate with bright. As a matter of fact, you might want to put on your sunglasses for the next shot. I took the shot below this week of the sun breaking through the clouds.I also took a shot of the bright sun breaking through the oak canopy in my front yard.Another day this week, I shot the bright sun against a blue sky in my back yard.
I would not recommend photographing the bright sun without wearing sunglasses.

I hope that everyone has a great weekend.

Hehe, I love my quilt! If I had a twin bed I'd have taken it with me.

We've got the same idea this week :)

Be careful with the lens facing the sunlight directly towards the sun. Might damage the lens, unless you've got UV filter lens on the camera :)

Happy Weekend!!

I was looking for a Sky watch entry ;-) And I am reminded I should post my photohunt!

I agree with Elaine, and remember sunray through lens can cause fire...Stay bright! Happy weekend!

Thanks to everyone for visiting. I really appreciate the tip about not risking my camera lens by facing into the sun. I didn't know that. I always thought if I wore sunglasses it was ok for a minute so good to know about the camera. To answer the question about whether I made the quilt, no it was a gift to my daughter. As a matter of fact she commented that she loved her quilt and if she had a twin bed in her apartment, she would have taken it with her. I guess I'm lucky that it can stay in her old room in my house, ha. I used to do some quilting but I never made anything like that one. I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Like the quilt, my grandmother made all her granddaughters quilts in the order they were born, I was the seventh and last one so I got to pick my design- always very special to me.

Like your star theme- I love learning about the stars, but then I always seem to forget what I learn.

Great pictures!

Lovely post, Carver. It is funny that you mentioned putting on sunglasses, because I've thought I needed them several times while visiting photohunters this weekend. It is interesting how we can capture that brilliance in a photograph. Hope you have a bright and shiney weekend, dear friend.

you're right about wearing sunglasses when taking a shot of the sun's brightness.

the glass used in the camera can double the sun's light effect. but thank God there's digital technology!

it looks like you have been spending several days with eyes towards the sky; searching for birds in the trees. I am always too slow and they are just a blur in my photos
