Weekend Snapshot: Number 18

For the first weekend snapshot of 2008 I thought I would feature my New Year's day walk.It was a perfect day for a winter walk. The sky was clear, the air was crisp and cool but not too windy. It's so nice to see the stream babbling rather than trickling. I love the bare trees. There's something so beautiful to me about the winter. If it weren't for the birds, I'd probably be wishing for an extra cold winter this year. The problem is I know it's a lot harder for the birds when it's too cold.
That's it for my weekend snapshot post of photographs taken during my New Year's day walk. To find out more about WS you can go to weekend snapshot. You can also visit other participants on technorati at

I can feel the cold just looking at your pictures- brrrrrr. I love the bright clear blue skies that winter brings.

I also liked your comment about a babbling vs trickling stream- that is so true.

Great pictures, have a great upcoming week.

The fresh air. I enjoyed these shots. We've had a grey winter, so I welcome any glimpse of blue--anywhere at all, real or virtual!

You live in such a scenic place! I wish I have such views when I go for my morning walk.

Now, Carver. Looking at that coffee cake---well, I could do something about that and I baked one over the weekend.

What can I do to get the blue skies!! I can do nothing! It's raining and will be for the next couple of days.

So, thank you for the blue skies. I'll be coming back to look at them.

Beautiful pictures! Looks like a gorgeous place for a walk, and fantastic job with the stream! Spring and summer are my favorite seasons, but it is always good to be reminded of the beauty in the whole year.

Carver,

What beautiful pics! We just returned to Florida after spending 10 days in Asheville, NC. It was just beautiful there as well. After seeing the great foliage there this autumn, I feared the winter landscape would be depressing - wrong!! It was just as beautiful.

Now, if I could only take pics like you. Thanks for sharing them and your thoughts.

Stay Strong

Hi, Carver! I apologize for returning the favor only now, I'm having a really difficult pregnancy that's why I don't get to visit my blog often. I even ask the aid of my friends to do the pasting of my paid postings for me. I love the picture of the babbling stream. It's really very refreshing. Thanks for the visit! :-)
