Then it occurred to me that there are back roads we drive on when we are in the mountains.
The dodgy part comes when you meet another car and there's only room for one direction at a time.
There have only been a few times when we (or the other car) have had to back up to a place to pull off and let one car get by.
I'm always glad I'm not the driver in those situation as it seem a bit dodgy at times.
I'm pretty annoying because I can rarely resist saying to Bill, what are we going to do if we meet another car. He always says the same thing: one of us will have to back up.

I love these! That second shot looks seriously dodgy.
Oh yeah those mountain passes can be real dodgy.
Those look like beautiful roads to travel :)
We've driven on many of those dodgy roads (not pulling our RV thank goodness....but traveling on backroads like that is one thing Bill really missed when we did pull it!)...
I enjoy the backcountry scenery, but I always ask the same question you do -- and always get the same answer. I guess our husbands share more than their first name ;>)
Although dodgy, they do offer scenic views as one travels.
Beautiful photos. It's so green and wet looking compared to most of the U.S.
Those back roads and their surroundings look lovely -- but then I don't have to worry about coming across a car coming the other way when looking at them! :)
Your pictures invite for a walk ! such a nice place !
I remember the roads on the Amalfi coast - narrow, lots of cliffs, and drivers going 120 k an hour. Dodgy indeed!
Have a great weekend.
That is a bit dodgy!
Happy Hunting~
