Next for the can theme is an old advertisement I spotted in a folk art museum which includes cans.
Below is a shot of the Rodin Garden in the North Carolina Museum of Art for the sculpture theme.
For monument I am including a shot of the three Presidents statue at the North Carolina Capitol which honors North Carolina natives who became President of the U.S. They were: Andrew Jackson who is said to have been born in Union County in NC although at the time of his birth the area hadn't been surveyed and it straddled NC and SC border so there is some question of which state he was actually from (7th President 1829 to 1837), James Knox Polk born in Mecklenberg County outside Charlotte, NC, (11th President 1845-1849), Andrew Johnson born in Wake County in Raleigh, NC (17th President 1865 to 1869). All 3 were residents of Tennessee when they were elected to be President but NC claims them as their own since they were born in NC. One of the presidents is seated on the horse with the other two on either side.

I didn't know that about the border and Pres Jackson -- very interesting bits of history here, painlessly learned. Great post.
Very interesting - I didn't know about that 3 presidents monument. And I love your photo of the Rodin pool - what an awesome place that is. You captured some beautiful reflections.
Happy weekend!
Great collection for the themes! Happy weekend my friend :)
The wonders of the can advertisement is a reminder of something we all take for granted these days. Good capture.
My can is at http://hindmarsh-island.com/?p=786
Lovely takes on the themes!
Thanks for the writing as well as photos, Carver. Interesting to learn that all three of those Presidents were born in North Carolina (or thereabouts) but were Tennessee residents when they were elected!
You always find the most beautiful photos for the themes... I need to get out more...
I love the sculpture in Rodin Garden.
