Photohunters: Miniature

In Colonial Williamsburg, VA there is a folk art museum which has a large exhibit of weather vanes.

The weather vanes have miniatures of a variety of subjects. Some of the miniatures are so big I imagine they would be part of a very large weather vane.

The next miniature is from the museum in Wilmington, NC at the USS NC Memorial Battleship.

The last miniature is located in the NC Botanical Garden at Chapel Hill, NC.

The details that went into this miniature house amaze me, including a tree and water pump.

These are all great, but I am partial to miniature ships. My sister actually collects them. Happy weekend, and photo hunting! I'm back playing this week too :)

Great replicas in miniatures! They are as good as the real thing. Interesting subjects for photohunting.

(Been thinking of you, just as I opened your profile, you came ahead of me via my main blog. Thank you.) (^_^)

Very nice selection, Carver. And d'oh -- I have a really nice photo of a weathervane that I've been waiting for the right opportunity to put up. Seems like I did have it in the form of this week's Photo Hunt -- but I plum forgot about it and went for something else instead!

There's something about miniatures of any sort that appeals to me greatly but the little house is the winner in this case. I'm very fond of weather vanes too, in their own right.
