Today's Flowers: a mix of summer blooms in my garden

My mother was born on June 14, 1924 and she loved yellow roses. Most years since her death in 1990 my yellow roses bloom around her birthday.
Photobucket
I was disappointed that my yellow roses won't be blooming in time for my mother's birthday this year but then I noticed how much yellow there is in my multi colored roses (above). I think my mother would have liked these multi colored ones.
Photobucket
I'm enjoying all the summer flowers and how even among the same type of flower they continue to be at different stages.
Photobucket
The black eyed susan (above) have some tightly coiled blooms and others wide open. The purple cone flowers (below) are also at varying stages.
Photobucket
Something has started eating up the petals on my mature purple cone flower below.
Photobucket
There is some kind of little insect (maybe a spider) in the center of the new cone flower in the next shot.
Photobucket
A bee of some kind seems to be enjoying the next cone flower.
Photobucket
I have purple cone flowers all over my yard and have been photographing a lot of them this week.
Photobucket
I've had trouble decided which shots to post because I want to show the varying stages and forms I found around my yard in one week.
Photobucket
Looking at these shots I think I see what may be eating the petals.
Photobucket
The wild areas of my garden (which is increasingly most of my garden) is very lush this year.
Photobucket
We've had some days with extreme heat but also lots of rain which has kept everything growing.
Photobucket
I need to start trying to get up earlier so I can garden while it's still fairly cool in the morning.
Photobucket
It would almost take a bush ax to cut a path through part of my garden where I used to have a path.

You have a beautiful garden Carver, so many gorgeous flowers here. I hope that insect doesn't keep eating your flowers but your roses look gorgeous and I know your Mother would have loved them.

What a wonderful tribute to your Mom. I really like all of these so much for their uniqueness and their vibrancy. I have to say though that the cone flowers are stunning.

I agree with you, it has been too hot to spend much time in the garden. Beautiful captures of your flowers and a lovely tribute to your mom.

I am grateful for any part of my garden that is self-sustaining. If you really would like a path, no need to call in the axe-murderer, just walk there every day and the plants will soon enough respect where you tread. After all, a path does not have to be wide enough for a truck to drive on.
You have an absolutely lovely garden and your mother is just glad to have a daughter who still remembers what she liked.

Beautiful as usual, Carver! We need a bit more heat on this coast . . . it finally got warm this week-end, only to get cold again today - rain tomorrow and then warming up again.

Lots blooming Carver! Lovely blooms!
I was noticing one of my flower beds that border the front of our property. It is getting very overun and I think I need to get in it and weed or my flowers will be buried.
