Today's Flowers: Lantana

My lantana is starting to bloom. I like the lantana for its orange scent and flowers. Hummingbirds and butterflies also like lantana.
I like the different stages of the blooms on lantana. I'm using a close macro shot on the one below which is only a little further along than the tiny early blooms in between the two larger ones above.I think it's interesting how those little pillow shapes open to form the blooms.
Once they are completely open they are like puff balls for want of a better description. If you want to smell like oranges, you can break off a lantana leaf and rub it in your hands. I like the scent of oranges so I do that sometimes. For other flower shots, please visit the home of Today's Flowers.

Gorgeous Carver!
I have to say the leaves look so green and without blemishes. You really have a green thumb. :)

My post is here: Carletta’s Captures.

Hi Carver, your lantanas are blooming well. I went back to the butterfly pavilion at the Museum yesterday, just because I love them butterflies and I have a hard time capturing them in open fields. I have always asked myself, why lantanas of all flowers. Now I know.

Carver, those are beautiful lantanas. Great photos.
I didn't know about the orange scent of the leaves. I will have to try it when I go to my garden.
Have a wonderful day,
SQ

Hi Carver, your Lantana are just beautiful. In the second shot those tiny petals remind me of butterfly wings. Gorgeous colors and I agree with Carletta, you must have a green thumb! Thank you for sharing these delightful photographs.

I love lantanas, there used to be plentiful around the estate I live in. But they removed them, makes me want to pull my hair out!!

That is cool how they do that. They kind of look like candy; sweet.

Gorgeous photos Carver. They make me even like lantana, briefly which I don't actually.

It was like a weed in Australia and you always had to be rooting it out.

It's a little strange to me to see this lantana colour! Most lantana I see on the Mornington Peninsula is deep purple! Wonderful shots and explanations!
