Photohunters: Breakfast

The photohunters theme is breakfast this week. Both of my breakfast shots are old shots which I may have used on my blog for some other purpose before. The blueberries were off of my bushes which sadly were damaged by our past drought. I used to have loads of blueberries in the summer for breakfast, pies, and for anytime I felt like picking and eating them. Although the drought ended the blueberry bushes didn't recover very well. The second shot was a weekend breakfast and I remember thinking it was pretty enough to photograph which I did, although the light wasn't great.

Snap2Days - I have a parallel lives PH post there with SabineM.

where participants post on Saturday.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Blueberries are my faves too. I have not met someone who didn't love blueberries. Are they plentiful and reasonably priced where you are?

Happy weekend. Stay well.

Thanks to everyone for visiting. To answer the question about whether blueberries were plentiful in my area. There are quite a lot of growers but they are pretty expensive. Fresh ones where I live are usually harvested around July (a little earlier in the eastern part of my state) and by August they are pretty much done. I've been lucky to have blueberry bushes that I could pick from at home since they are expensive. Sad that after 20 years they were severely damaged by drought but I did get 20 years of harvests from them so I guess I'm lucky.

Great, that's healthy breakfast. Lighter than what we have here for breakfast. Most indian breakfasts are heavy like parathas, sheera.. Only idlis are light food.
Have a great weekend.

Hi Carver --

Ooo, love blueberries -- to think you used to have so much to eat for free... On a happier note: agree with you that the breakfast in the second picture was worth photographing. :)

I've never tried fresh blueberries before. I'm sorry that your blueberries suffered because of the drought. Hope the next batch will be better.

The second plate looks like a healthy assortment.

Your second pic shows Breakfast not far removed from Dragonstar's.

One year we bought my husband some blueberry bushes for Father's Day. We had no sooner got them planted and one of our boys mowed the lawn- and the blueberry bushes. "I thought they were weeds!"
So, two years ago I bought hubby some more blueberry bushes. We are going to have blueberries if it kills us. Got one planted and the neighbors dog came straight over as if it was calling her and ate it off. Nothing left but a forlorn little shredded twig.
I kept the remaining one in the house for the winter and in the spring set it back outside in the hopes of getting it planted somewhere safely. Here comes the dog again. Nothing left but a forlorn little shredded twig. I didn't think it was worth planting and left it on the patio in its' bucket of dirt. This fall I noticed that a shoot had come up from it and looked quite healthy. I brought it back in the house. I fear for it's life come spring...
Here's Breakfast!
