Photohunt: Messy

The photohunt theme this week is messy, and that's an easy one for me. Since the new year will soon be here, this photohunt post will serve as a reminder of messy areas that I should straighten up.
As you can see above, I have a messy array of books on the floor beside the bedside table. The bedside table has plenty of books, date books, and journals on it or in the underneath part. Still I end up with this clutter spread out on the floor. My new year's resolution is either to straighten it up every day or assume there is no hope and it will always be messy. Not sure which I'll choose.
The shelves in my home office are up there in terms of being the messiest spot in my house. I sign on to my work network from home and rarely have to go to the office. Therefore, I have a lot of office supplies at home. No matter how often I straighten them up, they end up being messy again. The shelves beside my computer were so messy that instead of taking a picture of them I straightened them up. Therefore, my messy shelves are borderline neat in this shot. Anyone want to take bets on how long it will take for them to be messy again.

Hey, I'd feel right at home. It reminds me of the dorm rooms I had, almost twenty years ago!
And, um, yeah.... kinda reminds me of certain spots in my home right now, too. So you're in good company. :)

I can relate. I have to do some cleaning in some parts of the house before New Year. We believe that it is good to welcome the New Year with a clean and organized house.

I've hear a messy house is a happy house... I like that rule. Happy new year to you and yours!

Messy, but that's what I call normal :) I've become one of the no-hope crowd - I gave up on new year resolutions some time ago!

Messy alrighty! Perfect photos for the theme too:)

My Photo Hunt is up as well! Enjoy the rest of the Holidays!

If you're like me, you'll do good for a week with preventing "messy" but then you'll resign yourself to the fact that it's just not happening- messy it is and messy it will be...there are worse things in life.

Hi Carver,
Looks like you have your work cut out, if it's anything like my daughters bedroom then it wont be long before it's back how it was. When my wife goes around tidying I can never find anything I have left somewhere as she had moved it...drives me mad

Happy New Year

Mark

I need to do an end of the year "put the Christmas decorations away" clean. Love the shelves...you did a great job.

that's a lot of STUFF! I don't think I could function with my work area at home looking like that! I like having everything at my fingertips, but...

Theresa said...

Looks like you are planning a trip in the first picture? I do have to agree your second self was very messy.

I laughed at your last shot, before I read it, I thought wow she is really particular, because I was trying to find something messy about it- I thought there is that one computer wire-- then I read your comment. I am the same way, I can stand a little mess, but once a mess gets on my nerves I have to clean it up then and there! For just two people living in our house it is surprising how messy it can get and we marvel how it could get that way- we usually agree it is the cat's fault.

You're right, your office, my office, messy. But the area you straightened up looks real nice! I gotta do that...
Happy New Year to you! You've been a great blogging friend.

Happy weekend - and a happy New Year, too!

Good on you for cleaning some of your mess as well as taking a picture of other portions of it. Good luck keeping some of your space un-messy in the new year! :)

Nice job straightening up the shelves! It seems that no matter how hard you try, certain areas just become messy, no matter what.

Perfect shot for our theme. I think we all have times that we get messy around the computer area.

Yup--I am looking forward to my New YEars cleanup and clean out--though now that I have been trying to keep on top of it for several years we don't have nearly as much spare clutter. :)

I hate that too! I have areas that just always look messy no matter what I do! Great shots for the theme!

Oh dear! How can you find anything. Mind you I keep my messiness hidden inside closets so I am a bit hypocritical about it. I think my husband fears that one day I will come out of the closet. LOL

hehehe....I am totally convinced the only way to have a clean home office is to have one that slides out of the wall like a "Murphy bed"...no, that is no guarntee it will actually be CLEAN, but, in order to not have to see it, you just slide it BACK! "outta sight, outta mind",eh?
