Photohunt: Cloud(s)

When I saw that the photohunt theme this week was cloud(s), I knew it would be a tough one. I love clouds and photograph them all the time. At first I thought I'd post a single cloud against the blue sky in my back yard.
I guess that can be considered my official cloud shot. However, I'll post some others below too since I can just stop at one, or rarely do. The rest were shot in the mountains not far from the North Carolina/ Virginia Border. These are all on the Virginia side.Fortunately Bill usually does most of the driving when we go on a trip which leaves me free to shoot pictures out the window.
These shots were all taken in October of 2007 and I'm sure I've already posted some of them in the past. The drought was severe at the time both in NC and VA so any rain was welcome. We got a little rain the first day we got to Bedford, VA but it didn't rain when we were hiking.I think I'll stop here since I've recently posted shots of clouds at home on the WS post, and my skywatch shot on my other blog Carver Cards , as well as many beach cloud shots which have been sprinkled on fairly recent posts including the PH pointed one.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and may your clouds produce as much rain as you need but not so much to cause flooding.

Oh yes! I do need some rain where I'm at now. It has been really humid lately.

The picture of the clouds with the rainbow been reflected by the fountain is gorgeous :)

You too have a fabulous weekend!!!

Laughs - At first I thought you'd take the easy way out and post just ONE cloud... Oh the tour of your trip was beautiful! I have one a bit like your up too.

Hmm... who left his nose up in the sky in the first shot?? LOL. I love how you shoot your photos. It's so balance with blue skies, green countryside and tar roads. Perfect! :)

They're beautiful shots, Carver. I love the subtle rainbow (look carefully, folks, and you'll see it too) in the third shot.

These shots would have inspired the great painter John Constable, too.

Those are beautiful shots. The clouds on the first and second shots are so puffy. I like to imagine touching those soft, puffy clouds. I love the rainbow color on the third one.

Lovely shots, Carver. Your clouds almost look unreal...
IN California where I live (and I am NOT joking about this) I have not seen clouds, not even ONE cloud, for months...I MISS clouds!

Yes, that is tobacco under my cloud... they have the harvesters over there tonight...guess they will soon get that field..Thanks for coming by my blog!

Hmmm. I think the NC clouds have more potential for dreaming up fantastic images.
Or could it be that I am Carolina dreamin' as nothing could be finer?
At any rate, I wish you pleasant dreams of floating on one of those lovely clouds that you photographed so well.

Beautiful clouds and scenery. I love seeing other places...I will send rain to anyone who needs it, we have plenty..

how cool is that little rainbow. you have such a talent for taking and spotting photos at just the right second. I am always a few seconds short and getting things like the corner of the window which the camera focuses on rather then the image I am hoping for.

Ohh, another bunch of beautiful photos. What a nice day for sure. Those are beautiful clouds in a clear blue sky.

Hope you continue enjoying the weekend.

Is it just me, or does that first photo look like an upside down diaper?

Carver said...

Thanks so much to everyone for visiting and Audrey, I had to laugh and wonder if you are changing a lot of diapers lately. I didn't think of that but might have when my daughter was a baby.
